It's Christmas..

Which means I make something... for everyone... and it's exhausting.

So, for my Aunt Cathy, her husbear and my two little cousins, I made some stuffs for them.

Here is a recipe holder that was for my Aunt who is a chef and her husband who just cooks REALLY well. It also doubles as a photo holder or message board. Making this was quite simple, though a little grueling. The main part of the project is a cutting board I got from the dollar store. The stand is a wooden spoon (flat on top). The ribbon is holding the spoon on since the original glue I used did not work and I ended up using hot glue. I wanted to give it a little more support so the ribbon really provided a good tether. I hot glued and tacked a clothes pin onto the top center, which holds whatever paper you want to put there. I painted it with normal house pant and sanded it to give it a distressed look. All in all I think this turned out quite lovely.

These are two mason jar banks I made for my cousins. The outsides are painted with simple acrylic craft paint and the tops are the lids with cardboard in the top so you can cut a slit for change. After a dip of modge podge your creation is done and wont chip as easily as it would if you did not coat it in a protective layer. The feathers were hand painted, also with simple craft paint and tied on with a bell and some cream yarn, A simple but pretty project that costs almost nothin!! You can adorn these jars with anything you have laying around and paint them anyway you would like. Personally, I dig the ombre look
